Pranayama stems from two words: Prana – Life force and Ayama – Extension. This is one of the eight parts of yoga, where you learn by controlling your breath, you eventually will master your emotions and life force (energy). The ultimate goal of pranayama is to get your 7 chakra’s (energy wheels) in balance, preventing fluctuations in the circulation of energy flowing through one’s physical and spiritual body.
